ReThink/Orange Leaders Forum

Below are a couple videos from this past Monday when Reggie Joiner, founder of the ReThink Group and author of Think Orange was here at our church hosting a forum.

I got to hear Reggie speak at the NYWC this past weekend also so it was good to have an opportunity to speak with him and really try to chew on some of the principles he talked about such as:

Shifting my weekly attention heading toward Sunday:
from student to leader
from content to experience
from production to relationships
from age group focus to family ministry focus
from growth to service

Principles about change
-If you want to build something that lasts you have to be willing to change what you build. upgrade, tweak, etc.

-There is a tendency to be too slow to upgrade because change seems costly.

-The best way to keep a team moving toward your mission is to frequently upgrade your systems.

-Making changes gives you an opportunity to distinguish between what is core and what is cultural. Important Distinction!

-When you don't upgrade the system, you lose your capacity to support a more relevant approach.

-Effective organizations create a culture that is intentional about upgrading critical systems.
How do we connect leaders both in our ministry but across ministries in our church?
How do we connect people to the Truth?
How do we connect people to the Family?
How do we connect students to mentors?
How do we connect them with and through service?
