ANGRY!

" Everyone gets angry but not everyone gets angry about things that matter"

This has been a great series from The ReThink Group that we are in the middle of.

We often are so angry about little insignificant things...people cutting us off on the road, bad hair days, parents, siblings or other people not treating us the way WE think they should or giving us what WE want, photo radar(that's a big one here in Phoenix :), sports athletes or teams not performing up to standards or performing too well...etc.

What would happen if as the body that makes up Christ's bride we got ANGRY about the same stuff that makes Him mad? Idolatry, adultery, selfishness, genocide, The "haves" purposely keeping from the "have nots", abuse etc.

Look at the list of things that God hates in Proverbs 6:16-19 "haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers."

Do we hate those things also? When we hear about those things happening does it make us angry?

What if we jumped on board with the redemptive restorative process that He started way back in Genesis 3?

Leaning on His promises, with His power in us we could do anything we wanted to!

Isn't it incredible to think that, based on consumer statistics, if those of us in the United States stopped eating ice cream for 12-18months we could almost completely wipe out world hunger!!!

Would we be willing to sacrifice this delicacy in order to accomplish this?

Would you consider becoming more aware of things that make God angry & be angry about them & less angry about the things the things that make us angry out of our own selfishness?

Imagine what we could do allowing that righteous anger to motivate us to action as part of what God is doing!
